With the Oberaigner 6x6 on basis Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Oberaigner closes the gap of the 7t segment in the transporter and truck market. With a payload of up to four tons, extreme traction and based on a high quality mass production vehicle (basis Mercedes-Benz Sprinter) Oberaigner has created a unique vehicle in its niche that cherishes the legacy of the legendary Pinzgauer by Steyr-Daimler-Puch.

Oberaginer did not simply fit a third axle but re-engineered the Sprinter to a new vehicle.

The result: The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter transforms to a durable and rugged offroad transporter without compromises.

The Oberaigner 6x6 was engineered and is tested to suffice the high requirements of the Daimler AG that even reach beyond the striven for innocuousness certification.

Advantages of the 6x6 concept

The Oberaigner 6x6 differs essentially from the series 4x4 vehicle. The vehicle has been completely re-engineered in many aspects. The result is an exceptional and versatile vehicle with excellent attributes, increased payload and the highest level of reliability. These attributes form a vehicle that is unique in the world.

The 6x6 concept has decisive advantages compared to the 4x4 version:

• Increased payload up to 4.000 kg.
• Drastically reduced frame torsion due to asymmetric double pendulum suspension of the rear axles.
• Maximum traction achieved through three driven axles and up to five differential locks.
• Increased stability also with greater vehicle height (high fittings) due to greater wheel spacing.
• Greater load width due to single tyres (compared to 4x4 twin tyres).
• Improved traction due to three tyres in one track (?multipass effect?).
• Increased fording (600 mm).

Available beginning of 2012.

The Oberaigner 6x6 is currently under testing according to VDA standards. This is a complex and lengthy process that occupies several prototypes for more than 18 months in which more than 100,000 kilometers are covered. That means that the Oberaigner 6x6 has to undergo the usual testing programme for transporters and in addition even a comprehensive special offroad testing programme.
