The Offroad-Sprinter from Oberaigner.
Oberaigner knows the Sprinter 4x4 because Oberaigner created it. Every day the Mercedes-Benz transporter AWD components leave our plant in Austria and are being sent directly to the Daimler production plants in Germany and Spain. Oberaigner quality means genuine Mercedes-Benz quality.
But we go even a step further and offer the Sprinter 4x4 with additional drive options that have been developed and tested under the same conditions like the entire vehicle. Oberaigner only uses components that have been developed specifically for the Sprinter.
Only Daimler's and Oberaigner's Sprinter 4x4 is equipped with the electronic stability programme (ADAPTIVE ESP®) and electronic traction control system 4ETS®. Even real offroad vehicles spend most of their time on paved roads and highways. So why should you compromise in safety?

Innovation and Quality
Innovation and quality are forming the foundation for development and engineering at Oberaigner's. In 1995 a new solution was introduced to cover all gear ratio variations with just one front axle transmission.
This was achieved by variation of components in the transfer gear box. A minimum variation of the gear transmission ratio remains (in the range of Hundredth only) so that the planetary gear is not exposed to noteworthy revolution differences This minimum difference is intended to ensure a minimum rotation to evenly distribute the load on the gear wheels thus increasing lifetime of the gear. Furthermore this measure improves the drive characteristics of the vehicle by reducing reluctance for curves while the differential lock is active.
Our gears are developed and tested to the vehicle lifetime and are subject to the usual (minimal) wear. Except to oil-change (according to vehicle manual) they are generally maintenance-free. Operational stability of the components has been assured on test beds and endurance tests.

Sprinter 4x4 down under
Conversions of the Sprinter T1N
We can also convert your existing Sprinter T1N (the predecessor of the current model) to AWD with several options:
- selectable or permanent AWD
- low range reduction gear USG340
- angle gear ULG340 (e.g. for low floor vehicles)
- reinforcement of parking brake for 3,5t and 4,6t
- coupling of parking brake for 6,0t

There is something called 'innocuousness attestation'.
The so-called "innocuousness attestation" from Daimler allows vehicle converters to leave the Mercedes-Benz trident in its position. This requires the bodybuilder to successfully complete a testing scope defined by Daimler.
Of course also our vehicles have received the innocuousness attestation from Daimler. But due to the fact that Oberaigner is the system supplier for the AWD components of the Mercedes-Benz transporters we require more from our vehicles. Our testing programme is orientated towards Daimler's testing programme and we know how to adapt vehicles for offroad operations.
