Innovation Under Permanant Stress

The completed prototype does not have an easy life, in the truest sense of the expression. It is sounded out by the most extreme tests under a variety of the harshest conditions, challenging its potential. Due to the intensity of the tests and the immense requirements which we make on all models, around 10-20 vehicles are "used up" in the course of the testing of an aggregate. All the findings from the individual tests are precisely documented, integrated into ongoing development and used for the constant optimisation of the aggregate.

Bad Road Testing

In the framework of these tests, our prototypes must travel 2500 km on extremely difficult roads, which are not only covered with water, but also with potholes and other unevennesses and obstacles, in which a maximum of 100 km can be completed per day. The vehicles are equipped with special bumpers for this, and our test drivers cannot be expected to drive more than a maximum of 30 km in one go because of the extreme stress.

Country Testing

Every prototype is also tested for its ability to cope with countryside conditions. For this, a total of 20,000 km are travelled in open country, using various drivers in order to include the most varied of driving habits in the testing.

Continuous Testing

In the course of this continuous operation, over 100,000 km are covered. The test route for this marathon, in which all developments must be surmountedwas defined by us ourselves in the Rohrbach district, in our immediate vicinity, in accordance with the precise test regulations of the international automobile concerns.

Winter Testing

Some like it cold. In Sweden near the Polar Circle, all the prototypes must prove their suitability for driving on ice and snow for 2 months. The braking systems and the exact vehicle-tuning are subjected to a precise examination, and the algorithms of control devices and the performance of all-wheel systems are tested.

Test Bench

Testing on the factorys own test bench represents the last step towards readiness for series production. For this, the prototypes are put up on the test bench and driven with a strong electrical motor, to test their resistance to wear and/or determine their operational life.
