In the beginning, there was the Vision ...
How does the phrase go again? "The better is the enemy of the good". That is why technical development at Oberaigner functions in accordance with a simple principle: faster, better, more efficient. For us, progress means the perfect combination of pioneering spirit and goal-oriented work.
On technological new ground
Developments are always a path into the uncertain. A step into still unexplored territory with the chance of all the greater success.
Our experiences in the field of research and design span from the development of our first differential lock up to all-wheel drives for various vehicles. Here, mass-produced rear-wheel-drive as well as forward-wheel-drive cars have been converted to 4-wheel-technology. Furthermore, new developments of various drives for aircraft, but also special drives e.g. for fire-fighting vehicles and industrial robots have been successfully implemented.
- Over recent years, numerous patent applications have been made by the factory, through which it has been possible to bring in extensive sponsorship from the state research support funds, which we have in turn reinvested in research.
- Because of our cooperation with international automobile and vehicle technology manufacturers we give security and confidentiality top priority. In this connection, a complex security and monitoring system protects us from unauthorised access.
- Due to our competence in the field of small and medium-sized series, we are specialists in being able to react flexibly to performance targets and individual requirements. We can integrate special requests and particular specifications into design plans at any time and install specially adapted units in existing vehicles.

In our design department, we have 6 modern ACD workplaces at our disposal, which are equipped with the most modern design programmes such as Catia V4 on Unix and Catia V5 on Microsoft NT. In order to ensure compatibility in 2D drawings with suppliers and customers, we also use HICAD 2D.
The axles and gear parts necessary for the all-wheel technology can already be checked for hitches in the vehicle during development, using 3D portrayal. Moving processes such as the springing in and out of the wheels with simultaneous steering block are simulated on the computer and allow the first conclusions to be drawn about the functioning of the vehicle.
Because the materials used are already assigned to each component in the development stage, the weight and material characteristics can already be taken into account early on and tested for their suitability. In addition to this, a precise calculation of strength is carried out using FEM calculation, which enables any weak points to be rectified even before trials.
We make interfaces available for the direct exchange of data with our clients via data remote transfer (Odette), for all common data formats.
From the initial idea to the completed documentation
As an integrated systems provider, our range of services comprises complete solutions from planning via copying up to watertight documentation, which also precisely specifies all tolerances and the qualities of the materials selected.
